vintage Appleton chrome spot light w/ pushbutton handle S-451 custom car truck

This listing is for a vintage accessory Appleton S-451 spotlight with the pushbutton style handle.   The chrome on the light is pretty decent but not flawless, really nice clear stamping on the housing.   Handle is pretty nice although not flawless, shows a little age.   Has a bracket, looks like L-994 is the number on it.
I am told the following by another eBay member "
The Appleton spotlight pictured is a door mount spotlight. The shaft on this spotlight is about 1 1/4 inches longer than the normal Appleton post mount shaft. The L-994 bracket is a drivers side door mount bracket. This spotlight was made by Appleton to fit on 1949 - 1954 GM cars including Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick Oldsmobile and Cadillac.
It has the small Appleton S-451 head where an outside mirror came be mounted. The shaft is longer, the bracket is the correct L-994 drivers side. This spotlight is door mount end to end."
So apparently it was specifically made for 49-54 Chevy post cars as well as other GM post cars of the same era (won't fit hardtop or convert).     Cool accessory piece.
