This 1958 Buick Special Convertible is a beautifully restored Harley Earl masterpiece that is loaded with chrome and desirable options. In 1958, Harley Earl's final year with GM, the Buicks underwent a pretty substantial re-design from nose to tail. Gone were the "three-hole" and "four-hole" ventiports that adorned the front fenders of Buicks for the past decade. In their place was the new "drawer-pull" style Fashion-Aire Dynastar grills that were made up of 160 chrome squares, as well as upgraded dual headlights. The stylings on the rear quarters were also given a facelift with the upgraded side trim which gave the Special an elongated and elevated exterior look. Even the trunk deck lids were upgraded with "Special" spelled-out across them. All of these chromed upgrades led to '58 Buicks being deemed by some as the "Kings of Chrome." This particular '58 Buick is believed to have been restored in 2007 and spent time is private collections since then. Under the hood on this Special Convertible is a 364 Cubic Inch Nailhead V8 with an upgraded Single 4 barrel carburetor that provides plenty of power with improved reliability. The 364 Nailhead is mated up to an Automatic transmission that anybody can drive with ease. This particular Buick Special is particularly well-optioned. Power Steering makes driving this classic Buick substantially easier. Power brakes gives this Buick plenty of stopping power and has been upgraded to a dual master setup. The black cloth power convertible top is in fantastic condition and goes up and down with the simple push of a button. This Special convertible sits on 4 wide whitewall radial tires wrapped around wire wheel, that together give this car a stunning 50s look. The exterior of this '58 Special has been refinished in a stunning Seminole Red and Glacier White, two-tone paint scheme. The interior is stunning too! The front and rear bench seats have been recovered in Red and White Vinyl, matching the overall look of the car. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel are all in superb shape and all appear to be stock. The dash which is in its stock configuration is equipped with a 120 MPH Speedometer, Temperature Gauge, Oil Pressure Gauge, Amp Gauge, Gas Gauge,Clock and Push-Button Sonomatic Radio. Whether you've been searching for a chromed out 50s masterpiece to add to your collection or you're looking for your very first classic car, this 1958 Buick Special Convertible would make an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
